On the evening of December 22, 2015, five Hanna citizens were entrusted with a serious but gratifying and enjoyable task. Three adults, a teenager, and a younger child drove (or were driven) on every single street in Hanna to decide which house had the very best Christmas lights. The first-place winner was Teri Evans who received a two- month family membership to the Hanna Recreation Center. Second place went to Karen Root. Her prize was a one-month membership to the Rec Center. There was a tie for third place between Roy Morton and Loren and Cheryl Young. Their prizes were dinner gift certificates at the Nugget and at Dingy Dan’s.
The contest was sponsored by the Hanna Recreation Center Board. The Board plans to repeat the contest next year, perhaps adding hayrides through Hanna and hot chocolate at the Rec Center with judging done by Hanna citizens.
Thank you to the Hanna Recreation Board, the Nugget, Dingy Dans, the five judges, and all the people in town who decorated their houses and added to the Hanna Christmas spirit!
