Gail L. Combs, 74, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at the Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born Dec. 17, 1942, in Bridgeview, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Doris “Bette” (Boday) Porter. She was a resident of Hanna for more than 38 years and moved to Gillette in 2013.
She was a homemaker most of her life and a member of many organizations, including the Red Hats, Daughters of the Nile and the Rawlins Sewing and Embroiders Club for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hanna and taught Sunday School for more than 20 years. She faithfully cleaned the church, taught vacation Bible school, and was the nursery coordinator for many years.
She is survived by her brothers, Jimmie (Annie) Porter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and William “Bill” Porter of Alameda, California; children, Gerald E. “Jerry” White of Laramie, Nicole (Randy) Robbins of Gillette, Charles “Chuck” (Sandie) Combs of Hanna, Donald (Connie) Combs of Soldotna, Alaska, and Cathy (late Jim) Fox and Debbie Combs, both of Greenville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Donald James “Jim” Combs.
Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at the First Baptist Church in Hanna. Interment will be at the Hanna Cemetery.
