The Women’s Auxiliary was formed to raise money in support of the new fire department and ambulance crew that was started in 2007. The Fire Department is now under the aegis of Carbon County and the ambulance is run by SCWEMS, a private company, and the Women’s Auxiliary finds itself with money on its hands. The Auxiliary was going to use their funds to upgrade the town siren warning system, but with the advent of the Code Red telephone alerts, the town’s interest in updating that system has waned. The Women’s Auxiliary members are seeking suggestions about how they could use their fund of a few thousand dollars. The Auxiliary urges Hanna people to offer specific and serious ideas for a project or projects that would benefit the whole community.
